At 10:30 local organic farmer Emily Jubenvill (Shuswap Organics and Nature Delivered) will share her extensive knowledge of composting. Learn how to make compost to enrich your soil and help your garden thrive.
At 11:30 Jazmyn Evans of Grow and Change Horticultural Services will speak on Pesticides. She will be sharing information and ideas on how to manage some of the pests and problems we see in our gardens in this area. Learn some recipes for pest sprays you can make at home and preventative measures to ensure a healthy garden with happy plants.
At 1:00 Sue Moore, “retired”organic farmer and experienced seed grower will speak on Seed Saving. Learn how to successfully save your own seeds.
At 2:00 Sarah Johnson, pollinator ecologist and founding president of the Native Bee Society of BC will speak about Bees and Climate Change. Learn about native bees as pollinators in BC, how they are impacted by climate change, and some ideas for how you can contribute to their conservation and resilience against these mounting threats in your own backyard.
Bring your curiosity and your questions. There will be time for questions at the end of each session. Pre registration is NOT required.
If you have seeds you would like to donate, you can drop them off at the Enderby Library.
